The Wii itself is a great system, with a lot of great games of various types, unfortunately, the RPGs for it are not that great, but like with every console system, if you do a bit of digging, you can find those hidden gems.
Luckily, a lot of the golden RPG games of the Wii are a bit dated now. You are thinking, why is that a good thing? It's because a lot of them are cheaper now, so you don't have to pay as much to get an excellent game in your hands. Perhaps I'm just a sucker for finding the best bang for the buck, but realistically, you can't miss with that mentality. Like I said, many of the great RPGs for the Wii are older, so you'll definitely get plenty of enjoyment out of the little that you spend on them.

There have been many times when I went back to this game, just for the sake of playing such a well-crafted game, and I can see why Nintendo brought this title back, even though it's been such a long time. The game is that good. In all seriousness, it won't take you long to see why many people like this game, it's deep, it's complex, it's enjoyable, it's charming, and it's an all-around excellent role-playing experience. The price for it is relatively cheap, so if you have a few extra dollars in your pocket, check this out.

This game has an engaging and lengthy story, a nice twist to the combat system that makes it pretty unique, a fun and playful visual style, and at the end of the day its a very charming game to boot.
At first you are probably thinking, Mario has a RPG game? Yes, it's true. It's called Paper Mario, and it's a very enjoyable and packed full of things to do. Also, I should note that the game is pretty cheap when it was released back in 2007, so you'll even find it for much less these days (as of this article). This is one of those games that give you a very huge bang for the buck, so to speak, since it's a long and entertaining game that only costs you a little pocket change.
I would definitely check this one out, especially if you've played all the other RPGs on the market for the Wii. You can go wrong with a game this enjoyable, especially for being such a low cost.
Monster Hunter Tri
You've probably heard of Monster Hunter by now, no? If not, I'll explain it a little bit. Monster Hunter is a role-playing game that focuses on, yes you guessed it, hunting monsters! Don't let that simple theme fool you, the game is very deep, and very entertaining.
Monsters in this game move and react in realistic ways, and it's especially satisfying to take down something that is completely in a different league, as in so much more powerful that it could have easily sneezed at you, and you die. The visuals and animations are top-notch, and are very well polished. One of the perks that people like about this game, is that it's an excellent co-op game, so if you like playing video games with your friends, this one is a definite choice.
On another note, there is a lot of replay value with this game, since you can customize your characters to such an extent that it leaves you always with that "What if?" question about trying other strategies, other gear, other tactics, and so on. I've had a lot of fun with this game, and I can definitely recommend it.
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
This is a 2D action role-playing game that is both fun and stylish. Oh, the beautiful days of the 2D video games, how I miss thee. This game is a welcome edition to that type of gameplay, you remember those old school 2D games that were jammed pack full of action and adventure? Well, this is game that brings those qualities into the next generation.
The game isn't the deepest in comparison to many RPGs on the market, but the intense boss battles and lots of weapons to collect does make it a all-around good RPG.The backgrounds of this game are quite stunning and surreal, and they totally suck you in, there isn't any doubt about that. This is definitely a well crafted game that should hold your attention for a while, and while it's enjoyable, the short comings of it being a shallow game doesn't dent the experience too much, it's such a great adventure from beginning to end that you'll most likely disregard that aspect altogether anyhow.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
If you like Marvel, you'll like this game. This is a RPG based around the Marvel Universe, where it lets you play many of the famous and infamous heroes of that world. If you like the movies, if you like the comics, this is a definite must own!
It has a deep and optional character-customization system, it's stylish, and the shear amount of characters that you can pick to go on your team is just awesome. You can pick from prefab teams, such as the Fantastic Four, or the Avengers, or you can whip up your own team by picking whatever combination that you want.
The game itself is pretty lengthy, and a lot of the villains will offer you a good challenge, so you should be entertained with this one for quite some time.
