Need a Bigger Memory Stick For PSP? (2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB)

Need More Room?
If your a PSP lover like I am, you most likely need a lot more room for your games and videos. I know I did, especially when my vanilla 1GB stick was filled within the first 1 minute of getting my PSP, I knew I needed more space. Eventually I got a 4GB stick, that took about 5 minutes to fill up. Eventually, I upgraded yet again to the 8GB stick, and even though it provided ample room it still yet again, filled up.
Here is a piece of advice for you, if your looking to upgrade your PSP memory stick to something larger, and you have your eye on perhaps, the 4GB stick, just do yourself the favor and just get the 8GB stick, or even the 16GB stick. Of course, if you really want bragging rights and to strut your stuff among your fellow gaming goons, get the 32GB. If you get a smaller memory stick you may regret it later, and you'll wish that you had purchased the larger stick for the added room, as well as saving yourself time and money.
Even though it is hard to predict game sizes or movie sizes since both have differently lengths and codes, I'll give you a very rough estimate.
- Standard movie size of about 90-120 minutes is about 400-600mb
- Typical game size is about 100mb to 1GB and more. RPG's are usually quite large, while small puzzle games can even be under 100mb.
How To Install the Memory Stick
This is just to save myself time and not have to answer this later if anyone asks, since this will take you about 10 seconds in total time, to pop out the old stick, and put in the new.
- Find the area that is holding the memory stick (as shown in picture). Take your fingernail and open the little covering.
- Pull the covering outward a little bit, but not too much. Inside you will see the memory stick that is currently inside your PSP.
- Gently press the memory stick inside the PSP and it will release and come out partially. Then with your fingertips gently pull it out of the slot.
- Take your new memory stick (32GB FTW!) and insert it into the slot, and then gently press to make sure it's secure.
- Slide the cover back in.
- Turn on your PSP and make sure everything is working properly. If the new stick is faulty, then just re-insert your old memory stick, no harm done. If that's the case, get a new stick.
- Load all your PSP games, movies, and everything else that you can shove onto your new stick. This is the part where you wished you got a bigger one, your stick can fill up rather fast.
